The Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce oversees an array of councils dedicated to important community matters. Learn more about each of our councils below.

Military Affairs Council

The Savannah area is uniquely positioned and proud to have all five U.S. military branches represented locally, which generates a significant annual economic impact of nearly $5 billion. Ft. Stewart, located just outside of the Savannah MSA, and Hunter Army Airfield generate sufficient economic activity to the area with an annual financial impact of nearly $5 billion. Fort Stewart is the largest military installation east of the Mississippi River and covers nearly 285,000 acres. Ft. Stewart and Hunter AAF together are one of Coastal Georgia’s largest employers accounting for nearly three-fourths of the military employment in the area.

One of the Chamber’s top priorities is to preserve and enhance the military value of our community. This is accomplished through community leadership, federal advocacy efforts and the Military Affairs Council, while encouraging and strengthening community awareness and involvement. The Chamber is committed to our men and women in uniform.
