Savannah Hockey Classic Boosts Sports Tourism
The Savannah Hockey Classic took place January 16–17 at Enmarket Arena, welcoming fans and collegiate teams from across the region.
Founded by the Savannah Sports Council in 1998, the newly expanded tournament—now hosted by the Savannah Ghost Pirates—featured six collegiate teams, up from four in previous years, further elevating the event’s profile and competitive atmosphere. This year’s participants were Georgia, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, South Carolina, Florida & Florida State University!
The University of South Carolina claimed the tournament championship, capping off a successful weekend that highlighted Savannah’s growing reputation as a host for premier sporting events.
