Visit Savannah recently joined partners in Atlanta to celebrate a major win for the destination—the signed contract for the 81st Annual Southern Legislative Conference (SLC), set to take place in Savannah in July 2027. Team members met with leaders from the Council of State Governments Southern Office, including Lindsay Gray, Paula Tavares, and Patrick Eskridge, as well as Visit Savannah’s Jennifer Thompson, to mark the occasion and strengthen relationships ahead of the event.
Hosted by the Council of State Governments, the Southern Legislative Conference brings together policymakers, business leaders, and stakeholders from across the region, generating significant economic impact while elevating Savannah’s visibility as a premier meetings destination.
Meetings and conventions based in the Southeast represent a critical segment of Visit Savannah’s customer base. With strong regional drive access, established professional networks, and a high concentration of association and government groups, the Southeast offers consistent, repeat business opportunities that help sustain year-round visitation. Securing conferences like SLC not only delivers immediate economic impact but also reinforces long-term relationships that keep Savannah top of mind for future meetings and events.
