Visit Savannah was honored with a SCAD Salutes Award by the Savannah College of Art and Design for outstanding contributions to their home city. The SCAD Salutes Award, founded by SCAD President Paula Wallace, is an honor bestowed to an individual or organization’s creativity, kindness, grit, and goodness in the Savannah and Atlanta area. Michelle Gavin, executive director of communications for SCAD presented Visit Savannah President, Joseph Marinelli with the award . “On behalf of the team here at Visit Savannah and our Board of Directors, we thank SCAD for recognizing the efforts and benefits of the important work that we do,” said Joseph Marinelli, president of Visit Savannah. “Tourism impacts every corner of our community in one way or another and showcasing all that Savannah and Chatham County have to offer visitors from around the region, the country and globally is our only priority.”
“As a university devoted to higher learning, SCAD believes that knowledge, creativity, and innovation are essential values for a better future,” said Wallace. “The entire community benefits from Visit Savannah’s important work and steadfast vision to showcase our city as a premiere destination for visitors and a wonderful place to call home.”
