Last week, the Visit Savannah Marketing & Communications team visited Charleston, South Carolina, for a one-day retreat. The team had a productive day observing and discussing the visitor experience: including restaurant, shopping and attraction options, as well as directional signage and historical markers. Everyone participated in a walking tour, explored local shops and restaurants, and drove to Folly Beach to experience their beach community.
The team recapped by sharing observations of visitor demographics, things to do, prices, and overall hospitality in our sister city. In so many instances, Charleston is compared to Savannah, which helps the team better understand our unique points of difference for our destination and factor our findings into our marketing messaging.
