Last week, Savannah Sports Council Director Rob Wells represented Savannah at the Connect Sports LGBTQ Events Summit in Portland, Oregon. While there, Wells met with 19 different event owners to discuss why Savannah is an ideal destination for sports events.
The first event of its kind, the summit marked the first time in the history of sports tourism that global destinations who embrace diversity and are actively engaged in securing room-night generating sporting events met with LGBTQ sporting event organizers to present their hospitality community, venues and facilities.
