In late July, the Savannah Sports Council helped facilitate two sporting events that welcomed athletes, families, and visitors to the Savannah area.
The USSSA Baseball Tournament at L. Scott Stell Park brought approximately 135 families to the community, generating valuable visitor spending while highlighting Chatham County’s quality sports facilities.
The Elite Masters Invitational Weightlifting Competition also welcomed 200 of the nation’s top weightlifters to the Paul Anderson Weightlifting Complex for a high-level competition.
Events like these reinforce Savannah’s reputation as a premier sports tourism destination while supporting local businesses, strengthening the regional economy, and showcasing the community’s ability to host successful athletic events.
