Visit Savannah’s Courtney Martin and Larry Browder recently hosted 47 guests from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for their prestigious Event Planner Forum. The event brought together planners who coordinate meetings and conventions of all sizes across the U.S.
Attendees were captivated by their stay at the JW Marriott Plant Riverside District and the tour of the newly expanded Savannah Convention Center, where they also enjoyed a luncheon and presentation. Joe Marinelli, President of Visit Savannah, welcomed the group and was pleased to learn that more than 35 attendees had never visited Savannah before—an exciting opportunity for future business.
During their visit, planners learned about the Signia by Hilton Savannah, set to open in 2028, and explored Savannah’s growing collection of convention hotels while cruising along the scenic waterfront. The trip concluded with a dinner at Vic’s on the River, where many guests expressed enthusiasm about returning—and bringing future IEEE programs to Savannah.
