Hyatt Hosts Successful Convention Despite Hurricane Irma

The Hyatt Regency hotel recently welcomed a meeting of nearly 300 invitees of the American Public Human Services Association. Although they considered postponing their convention due to the uncertainty of where Hurricane Irma was projected to make landfall, Director of Membership and Events Donna Jarvis-Miller paid close attention to factual updates from Chatham Emergency Management Agency (CEMA) and National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Adminstration (NOAA) and remained in constant contact with event organizers at the Hyatt, and decided to go on with the event. In the end, fewer than 10 attendees were no-shows and the meeting was quite a success. Jarvis-Miller praised the staff of the Hyatt for their helpfulness and responsiveness.
