The Savannah Sports Council Celebrates the 2023 Georgia Power Sports Awards Recipients

The Savannah Sports Council celebrated 30 years of developing sport-related events that impact our community by hosting the 2023 annual Georgia Power Sports Awards Luncheon at the Savannah Golf Club on Friday, May 5. The awards luncheon recognized local athletes and partners who have excelled at their given sport. The Council bestowed honors in numerous categories, including Sports Event of the Year, the John F. Hodges OASIS Award, and scholarships to men and women embarking on their college careers.

Kayla Chance – Savannah State University XC/TF

Generations Award:

Savannah Arts Academy – Girls Cross Country

SCAD Athletics – Women’s Bowling

The Habersham School – Girls Cross Country

The Habersham School – Boys Cross Country

Benedictine Military School – Football

Memorial Day School – Boys Basketball

2023 Community Scholar-Athlete Award:

McClain Allen – Savannah Arts Academy

Margaret Wade – Savannah Arts Academy

Kendall Cripe – Savannah Arts Academy

Anna McVay – St. Vincent’s Academy

Dylan Nessen – New Hampstead

Tyler Tift – The Habersham School
