Your Business Can Help Keep Savannah Clean at “Plogging” Event June 22

On Saturday, June 22, do your part to keep Savannah clean by participating in the city’s second annual “plogging” event. A hybrid of “picking up litter” and “jogging,” the concept of plogging has leapt from Europe to the east coast of the United States and promises to keep Savannahians active and keep our neighborhoods clean! Businesses can organize teams to plog anywhere they like, whether that means specifically around their building, their block, their street or anywhere in the community. Keep Savannah Beautiful will provide trash grabbers and both gloves and litter bags will be provided by sponsoring organizations.

At the time of registration, a designated team leader can specify a time and location for City of Savannah sanitation workers to pick up the team’s litter. A Savannah Plogging pick-up area will be open between 7:30 and 8 a.m. in front of City Market’s Wild Wings Cafe the day of the event where team leaders can get their group’s supplies. Teams are welcome to jog any distance they choose at their own pace! There is no cost to participate no matter how large your team gets.
