Tomochichi United States Court House Reaches New Milestone in Construction Project

The Tomochichi Courthouse project team reached a significant milestone recently with the completion of work on the tower. The work, completed over the last 16 months, was necessary to ensure the tower’s structural soundness and stop water intrusion.

According to GSA’s Project Executive Abby Low, the tower has a new roof, an enhanced steel structure, and the mortar between the marble in the exterior has been replaced.  “This is exciting,” said Low. “This is a major milestone that marks the first visual sign of the future of the building.”

Scaffolding was removed from the building in March. According to Low, once the project is complete, the tower will be lit again as it has been historically.
