Gray’s Reef Ocean Discovery Center Reopens to Expand Marine Education

Downtown Savannah marked a significant milestone for regional conservation on Saturday, Feb. 28, as the Gray’s Reef Ocean Discovery Center hosted its official grand reopening. The ceremony, held at 340 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., introduced a reimagined facility dedicated to ocean literacy and sustainability. Following the 11 a.m. ribbon cutting, the center hosted the “Earth is Blue” Block Party, engaging local families and community partners through hands-on environmental activities and museum-quality exhibits. The newly designed space serves as a central hub for marine science education, connecting the public to the unique ecosystem of the Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary. This reinvestment in the downtown corridor strengthens Savannah’s cultural and educational offerings while promoting long-term stewardship of Georgia’s coastal resources. Savannah Vascular Institute Expands Footprint with New State-of-the-Art Facility

A cornerstone of the local medical community reached a significant milestone yesterday as Savannah Vascular Institute celebrated the grand opening of its new facility at 7208 Hodgson Memorial Drive. The ribbon-cutting ceremony, held Thursday, March 5, marked the relocation of the practice to a larger, technologically advanced clinic designed to enhance outpatient efficiency. Founded in 1994, the Institute has served the Lowcountry for more than three decades. The expanded site features 14 exam rooms, a dedicated vein center, and an IAC-accredited laboratory, allowing patients to receive comprehensive vascular care and minimally invasive procedures in a single setting.
