New Oak Theatre Launches Inaugural Professional Season
The regional arts scene celebrated a milestone as New Oak Theatre officially launched its first professional season with a ribbon cutting on Friday, Jan. 9. The ceremony, held at the Tybee Post Theater, preceded the opening night of the intimate musical I Do! I Do! In partnership with the Tybee Post Theater, New Oak Theatre aims to deliver professional productions that reflect the city’s unique spirit. While currently performing at various venues, the company is building toward a permanent dinner theater home in Savannah focused on storytelling and community connection. The inaugural production, a 50-year journey of marriage from the creators of The Fantasticks, marks the start of the theatre’s mission to cultivate imagination and strengthen the local creative economy. The Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce congratulates New Oak Theatre on its debut and applauds the collaborative spirit driving this new chapter for local performing arts.
