The Chamber’s 2022 Economic Outlook luncheon took place at the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Result & Spa, where around 700 members gathered to hear the economic forecast for the upcoming year. Georgia Southern University’s Mike Toma provided the regional outlook, and Dr. Benjamin Ayers gave a forecast for Georgia and the nation.

Economic officials said Georgia is outperforming the country regarding GDP growth, and the housing market’s strength will be a crucial factor in Georgia’s economy this year. Dr. Toma and Dr. Ayers went on to say that getting the COVID-19 vaccine is one sure way to help speed up Georgia’s economy.
