Visit Savannah Targets Youth Travel Business at SYTA

Visit Savannah’s Stefan King represented Savannah at the Student & Youth Travel Association (SYTA) Annual Conference, Aug. 21–24 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, completing 35 appointments with student and youth travel planners.

Visit Savannah also hosted the conference’s opening reception, giving King the opportunity to welcome attendees, speak about Savannah, and further showcase the destination through a hosted booth.

SYTA is the premier professional trade association promoting student and youth travel worldwide, bringing together tour operators, destinations, and travel suppliers focused on creating travel experiences for young people.

The student and youth market is particularly valuable for Savannah because group travel can generate hotel room nights throughout Chatham County, helping spread tourism business beyond the downtown core while supporting local attractions, restaurants, and other hospitality partners.

Participation in SYTA gives Visit Savannah direct access to planners who can bring future student groups to the region, creating new opportunities for partners throughout the local tourism industry.
