Visit Savannah PR Hosts NYC Media Event to Keep Destination Top of Mind

The Visit Savannah PR Team, Supriya Christopher, and Tanvi Chauhan recently cohosted a media reception with the Municipal Grand Hotel in New York City, welcoming more than 40 editors and travel writers for an evening of conversation and connection.

Those in attendance represented some of travel’s most influential brands, including Condé Nast Traveler, National Geographic, Forbes, AARP, Lonely Planet, AFAR, BBC Travel, and Rolling Stone, among others.

The event provided an intentional opportunity to build and strengthen relationships with journalists who regularly shape national and international travel coverage. Through one-on-one conversations and informal networking, the team shared Savannah’s story ideas, seasonal experiences, and new developments across the destination.

Relationship building remains a cornerstone of Visit Savannah’s public relations strategy. By meeting in person with media professionals, the PR team helps ensure Savannah remains top of mind as editors and writers plan future editorial content, travel features, and destination roundups.

These personal connections often lead to story placements that introduce new audiences to Savannah’s charm, culture, and visitor experiences—delivering meaningful visibility that advertising alone cannot achieve.
