Visit Savannah Hosts New York City Media Dinner with Focus on Film Tourism

Visit Savannah, alongside partners at the Savannah Economic Development Authority (SEDA) and Savannah Film Office, rolled out the red carpet for 25 media guests during its annual New York City media mission dinner at the iconic Lotte New York Palace Hotel.

The exclusive dinner featured posters and décor celebrating iconic films shot in Savannah, including Forrest Gump, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, and Juror #2.

The evening’s storytelling highlighted Savannah’s rich film history and the growing interest in film tourism. Savannah’s signature Southern hospitality was on full display as editors and journalists mingled with the Visit Savannah and SEDA public relations teams.

Guests also received special gifts featuring locally made products to keep Savannah and Tybee Island top of mind as they plan their editorial coverage for the coming year.

The dinner capped two days of meetings with editors from Travel + Leisure, Condé Nast Traveler, Esquire, Good Housekeeping, Delish, and Coastal Living.

These valuable media relationships help generate national exposure, inspire future travel, and keep Savannah and Tybee Island in the spotlight as must-visit destinations.
