Visit Savannah and Visit Tybee’s public relations team traveled to Birmingham, Alabama, last week to call upon consumer publications headquartered there. In a series of three events, the team was able to update partners on what’s new in the Savannah area and continue to foster meaningful relationships that help keep Savannah in the media spotlight.
The team hosted travel journalists, bloggers, and content creators based in Birmingham at a fun reception at Topgolf! The team gave attendees a presentation on new hotels, restaurants, and attraction openings, alongside updating journalists on upcoming events.
Visit Savannah and Visit Tybee hosted editors from Hoffman Media for breakfast the next day, where they too got a glimpse of all the new developments in Savannah post-pandemic. Hoffman media group publishes titles such as Cooking with Paula Deen, Taste of the South, Southern Lady, and Cottage Journal. All of these speak to Savannah’s customer base.
The last stop for the team was the offices of Southern Living Magazine, where Editor-in-Chief Sid Evans and his section editors got a glimpse of all the exciting new changes coming to Savannah and Tybee in the coming months. Southern Living continues to be a high producer of Savannah and Tybee content, so personal visits and relationship-building media missions like these help keep Savannah and Tybee top-of-mind year-around as content is being planned by the Southern Living’s team for their editorials.
