Small Business Council Hosts June Power Hour at Savannah Repertory Theatre

The Chamber’s Small Business Council met at Savannah Repertory Theatre last week for the Power Hour lunch-and-learn. Speaking this month were Rita Elliott and John Jameson of Savannah Archaeology Advocacy Group to discuss how small businesses benefit from a greater public awareness of archaeology and its potential to draw more tourists and stimulate the local economy. Savannah contains some of most important archaeological resources in the state and the nation; as an important component of historic preservation, archaeology attracts keen visitor interest and curiosity, promoting tourism to the destination, and questions about archaeology and important discoveries are commonly asked during tours of the city. A delicious buffet lunch was provided by Cape Creations Catering.
