Savannah Sports Council to Hire Event Manager

The Savannah Sports Council is looking for a new sports event manager! The sports event manager’s primary responsibility will be to independently execute all Council-owned and hosted events, including the Enmarket Savannah Bridge Run, the Publix Savannah Women’s Half & 5K, the Georgia Power Sports Awards, the Enmarket Savannah Hockey Classic, the inaugural NAIA Senior Football Classic, and the 2020-2021 NAIA Lacrosse Men’s and Women’s National Invitational.

This position will work closely with the Sports Council director to maximize revenue opportunities for events includes sales of sponsorships and management of all event-related logistics. The event manager will also be responsible for managing interns and contracted event employees.

The ideal candidate for the event manager role possesses a four-year degree from an accredited institution, with a BS in sports marketing or management being preferred. The candidate should also have a minimum of one-to-two years of experience working in sports tourism or sports event operations. Experience with sponsorship sales is highly preferred.
