Savannah is poised for a strong Fourth of July weekend as the nation celebrates America’s 250th anniversary, and Savannah is well-positioned to welcome visitors seeking a meaningful, historic, and celebratory destination. Savannah will offer several ways to celebrate throughout the weekend, from waterfront festivities and live music to history-focused experiences that connect the city’s past to the nation’s founding story.

Visitors and residents can find a full lineup of citywide events at VisitSavannah.com, which highlights Savannah’s role as a city predating the nation itself and continues to honor this milestone through history, culture, and community experiences.

The city’s signature celebration on Savannah’s Waterfront begins at 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 4, and will feature live music on three waterfront stages, food and drink specials, patriotic activities, and fireworks over the Savannah River. Live music is planned for Plant Riverside District, Rousakis Riverfront Plaza, and The Park at Eastern Wharf, creating a connected celebration along one of Savannah’s most iconic gathering places.

On Tybee Island, visitors can enjoy a classic coastal Fourth of July experience with fireworks staged from the Tybee Pier. The show is expected to begin at dusk, between 9:15 and 9:30 p.m., and can be viewed from Tybee’s eastern beaches. Guests are encouraged to arrive early and stay late to enjoy the full beachside experience.

History will also be part of the weekend experience. Coastal Heritage Society’s Savannah History Museum will feature Revolutionary War cannons recovered from the Savannah River as part of a new exhibit highlighting Savannah’s role in the American Revolution. The exhibit adds a meaningful historical connection to the America 250 celebration and offers visitors another way to experience Savannah’s deep ties to the nation’s founding story.
