Leadership Savannah graduates gathered at the Charles H. Morris Center for Note to Self, Part II, an evening of reflection on grief, defeat, victory, change, legacy and the moments that shape us as people and leaders.

The program featured personal reflections from the Honorable Christopher Middleton, Superior Court judge and member of the Leadership Savannah Class of 2024; Cecilia Arango, principal and marketing director at Thomas & Hutton and member of the Class of 2016; and Jamey Espina, chief development officer for Hospice Savannah and member of the Class of 2015. Each shared a defining moment and the words they would want to hear while navigating it.

Dr. Joe Buck, a longtime mentor to generations of Leadership Savannah graduates, drew the speakers’ reflections together and guided attendees in writing their own “Note to Self”—words of strength, clarity, and encouragement to carry into a future moment when they may need them most.

The evening was a reminder that leadership is shaped by how we respond to difficult moments, care for those who depend on us, and choose our next steps.
