Savannah is preparing to welcome back one of its largest and most energetic annual sporting events as the Nike Savannah Showdown returns February 12–16 at the Savannah Convention Center.
Now in its ninth year, the long-running youth volleyball tournament will bring more than 14,000 players, along with their families and coaches, to Savannah and Chatham County for five days of competition. The size and popularity of the event once again translate into strong demand for local hotels, short-term rentals, restaurants, shops, and attractions across the community.
Due to the tournament’s continued growth, organizers have secured the new 1,000-space surface parking lot at Enmarket Arena to accommodate overflow parking and ensure a smooth experience for participants and spectators traveling between venues.
“This is exactly the kind of event that showcases Savannah’s ability to host large-scale sporting competitions while delivering a memorable visitor experience,” said Joseph Marinelli, President & CEO of Visit Savannah. “With the Nike Savannah Showdown and several other major events happening the same weekend, our hotels, restaurants, attractions, and small businesses will feel the positive impact. It brings tremendous energy to our community and highlights why Savannah is such a sought-after destination for sports tourism.”
The Nike Savannah Showdown is part of a particularly busy and exciting weekend for the region, creating a vibrant atmosphere throughout the city and reinforcing the important role sports tourism plays in Savannah’s visitor economy.
