The Leadership Savannah Class of 2024 spent March 25 immersing themselves in Savannah’s vibrant and ever-evolving arts community. The day offered a powerful look at how creativity shapes our city’s culture and economy, from film and design to visual art and music.
The morning started with an exclusive visit to the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), where class members toured the SCAD Film Studio, the innovative Deloitte Foundry, and the historic Poetter Hall. These stops offered a unique, behind-the-scenes perspective on the intersection of education, innovation, and artistic expression.
The class headed to the Otis Johnson Cultural Arts Center in the afternoon. There, two engaging panels brought the arts to life: the first focused on the impact of visual arts in our community, while the second spotlighted Savannah’s musical roots and the role of music in shaping the city’s cultural identity. City staff also treated participants to a tour of the newly renovated facility.
A special thank you goes to Andrew Cosey of Austin Hill Realty, a Leadership Savannah board member, for his outstanding work coordinating the day’s programming.
Leadership Savannah continues to deliver meaningful, hands-on experiences connecting participants with the people, places, and passions that make our city unique.
