Leadership Savannah’s Class of 2026 spent Military Day learning about the service, sacrifice, and leadership of the men and women stationed throughout our region.

The day began at Hunter Army Airfield with a command briefing from Garrison Commander Lt. Col. Kyle Stillwell. The class then traveled to Fort Stewart, where members visited Warriors Walk to honor soldiers of the 3rd Infantry Division who made the ultimate sacrifice. They also climbed aboard military vehicles and learned about the equipment soldiers use today.

For the return trip, class members boarded a CH-47 Chinook helicopter to Hunter Army Airfield. The day continued with a visit to the U.S. Coast Guard, a presentation from members of the Georgia Air National Guard’s 165th Airlift Wing, and a social with local military command staff.

Military Day gave the class a closer look at the people, missions, and partnerships that make our region’s military community so important. It also offered a lasting lesson in leadership through service, teamwork, and commitment to others.
