Leadership Savannah Alumni Win Municipal Elections

Leadership is action — that’s what makes Savannah shine. Please join us in congratulating three outstanding Leadership Savannah alumni on their recent municipal election victories:

  • Vernon Donovan, Class of 2025 – Midway
  • Gabreille Nelson, Class of 2025 – Port Wentworth
  • Dana Williams, Class of 2024 – Thunderbolt

Leadership Savannah is not an exercise in learning for learning’s sake. It is a call to action — a commitment to engage deeply with our region, understand its opportunities and challenges, and step forward to help shape its future. We are incredibly proud of alumni who heed that call to service and take thoughtful, intentional action on behalf of our communities.

As we celebrate the conclusion of the Class of 2025 this week, we are thrilled to return to New Ebenezer Creek Retreat in Effingham County for our closing retreat — our third year at this special setting. Among the many reflections and lessons shared, participants also received a bold invitation to consider public service, including running for office.

It is inspiring to see three of our recent alumni take that message to heart — and to the ballot box. We applaud their dedication and look forward to watching them put their Leadership Savannah training into action.

Congratulations to Vernon, Gabreille, and Dana. Your service makes our county stronger, and your Leadership Savannah family is cheering you on every step of the way and here to help.
