Industry Council Explores the Future of AI in the Workplace

The Industry Council Meeting last week brought together regional leaders at the Quick Start Advanced Manufacturing Training Center for an in-depth look at the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in the workplace. The keynote, “Unlock New Tech Insights,” was delivered by Dr. Michael Butcher, Founder and President of the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students at the College of Coastal Georgia.

Dr. Butcher—who co-chairs CCGA’s AI Task Force and holds advanced credentials in IT, public administration, educational leadership, and AI business innovation—shared practical guidance on integrating AI into organizational strategies. His work focuses on helping companies adopt emerging technologies responsibly, reshape culture, and improve outcomes through training, tailored solutions, and research. His thought leadership extends nationally through keynotes, webinars, and advisory roles, including contributions to CareerOS, EdTech Magazine, and the Citizen Experience podcast.

The event also underscored the value of collaboration, with support from RISE and SEDA, and attendees enjoyed networking and a lunch sponsored by ASME. As AI continues to transform industries, gatherings like this help ensure our region stays ahead of the curve—embracing innovation that strengthens workforce and business competitiveness.
