Georgia Tourism Booms: $5 Billion Impact Recognized at State Capitol by Governor Brian Kemp

The Georgia Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus (GACVB) joined Governor Brian Kemp and tourism professionals from across the state last week to recognize the significant impact of Georgia’s tourism economy.

Serving as the 2025 Chairman of GACVB, Visit Savannah’s Chief Sales Officer, Jeff Hewitt, highlighted the industry’s importance, stating, “This annual celebration honors the hardworking Georgians who dedicate themselves daily to welcoming visitors with our signature Southern hospitality.”

The 2025 Tourism Day at the Capitol provided an opportunity to showcase the industry’s contributions. During the event, Jeff Hewitt (pictured left) presented Governor Kemp with a ceremonial check from GACVB and industry representatives, symbolizing the $5 billion in state and local tax revenue from tourism-related expenditures in 2024.

Tourism remains a key economic driver in Georgia, supporting 400,000 hospitality-related jobs—an increase of five percent year over year.
