More than 200 Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce hospitality members gathered at the historic Savannah Theatre for the recent Visit Savannah Opportunity Summit, learning how local businesses can capitalize on upcoming marketing opportunities tied to the region’s biggest events and seasonal campaigns.

The Visit Savannah team outlined ways businesses can participate in initiatives surrounding Banana Ball, the SEC Volleyball Championship, Holly Days, and Azalea Days this spring. Organizers also shared marketing strategies and free promotional resources designed to help businesses capitalize on increased visitor traffic, beginning with the upcoming Banana Ball playoffs and the Southeastern Conference volleyball tournament.

The goal is simple: help keep visitor spending circulating throughout the local economy.

Businesses were encouraged to get creative by offering themed promotions, developing eye-catching storefront displays, hosting watch parties, and finding other ways to welcome visitors while turning increased foot traffic into direct revenue.

The Opportunity Summit demonstrated how collaboration between Visit Savannah and the local business community can extend the economic impact of major events well beyond the venue itself, benefiting restaurants, retailers, attractions, and other businesses throughout the region!
