City of Savannah’s New Stormwater Fees Take Effect Today

Beginning September 1, City of Savannah utility customers will see a new Stormwater Utility Fee to provide dedicated funding for drainage maintenance, infrastructure improvements, and flood-reduction projects.

The fee is based primarily on the amount of impervious surface on a property, including rooftops, driveways, and parking areas, which contributes to stormwater runoff.

The Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce encourages members and local businesses to review how the new fee may affect their properties and to learn about available credits for qualifying stormwater management practices.

For details on rates, credits, and the new utility, visit the City of Savannah’s Stormwater Utility page.
