Chamber Volunteer Day Supports Mary’s Place

Members of the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce came together on February 27 for one of the Chamber’s biannual Volunteer Days, spending the day serving nonprofit member organization Mary’s Place.

Volunteer Days connect Chamber members and staff with local nonprofits for hands-on service projects that strengthen community partnerships and make a meaningful impact across the Savannah area.

Mary’s Place provides shelter, support, and resources for survivors of domestic violence as they rebuild their lives in a safe and supportive environment.

Approximately 20 Chamber members and staff volunteered during the day, painting and refreshing the break room, packing bags for survivors, writing letters of encouragement, creating a hygiene closet stocked with essentials, and organizing the clothing closet.

Mary’s Place welcomes volunteers year-round and accepts donations of dry snacks, water, juice, hygiene items, diapers, and new clothing. Those interested in helping can contact Coco Papy at 912-233-3000 to learn more.

The Savannah Area Chamber is proud to partner with organizations like Mary’s Place and provide opportunities for members to give back to the community.
