Chamber Staffer Visits Savannah in Ireland

Savannah Chamber membership manager, Tara Reese, visited the “Savannah Landing,” Visit Savannah’s display at the Dunbrody Famine Ship exhibit in New Ross, Ireland. Tara is pictured here with the Dunbrody’s Executive Director, Sean Connick.

In 2019 Visit Savannah collaborated with the Dunbrody Famine Ship Experience & Museum in Wexford to tell a complete story of the Irish people who left the country during the Great Famine and arrived at the port of Savannah. The “Savannah Landing” depicts what Irish immigrants would have experienced when they arrived in Savannah in the 1840s and 1850s. As the world opens up again, The Savannah Area Chamber and Visit Savannah are excited to touch base and reconnect with our partners overseas.
