Chamber Presents Gift to Republic of Georgia Brigadier General

Recently, Republic of Georgia Brigadier General Levan Gamkrelidze was presented with a gift box with a scene of Savannah’s River Street and River Street Sweets taffy by the leadership from the 165th Airlift Wing, Georgia Air National Guard. The box was a gift from Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce’s President Bill Hubbard in recognition the special relationship that the Republic of Georgia and Savannah have with the military of the Republic of Georgia.
Brig. Gen. Gamkrelidze has a special connection to Savannah and River Street as he found a former school mate of his employed at River Street’s Olympia Café. The Big. Gen. is also former commander of the Georgian National Guard and named defense attaché for the Republic of Georgia to the Ukraine.

Last week, the Chamber presented similar gifts to President of the Republic of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili and his Defense Minister Levan Izoria.
