Chamber Participates in REAL Taskforce Convening on Early Childhood Education

Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Bert Brantley and Vice President of Community Affairs Jennifer Davenport recently joined Mayor Van Johnson and community leaders for a convening of the REAL Taskforce focused on early childhood education and workforce readiness.

The Education Sub-Committee presented its white paper, The Case for Mandatory Early Childhood Education in Southeast Georgia, along with the Portrait of a High School Graduate, highlighting how early learning contributes to long-term student and workforce success.

RISE, United Way of the Coastal Empire and Chatham County’s Moonshot initiative also shared data supporting greater investment in early education, while Senator Derek Mallow called for expanded pre-K opportunities throughout the region.

The Chamber recognizes early childhood education as both an education and workforce priority. Building tomorrow’s skilled workforce begins with strong foundations in literacy, communication, problem-solving and social development.

The Chamber looks forward to continuing its work with community partners to strengthen the region’s education-to-workforce pipeline.
