Chamber Leadership Supports Youth Literacy on Read United Day

The Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce was proud to take part in United Way of the Coastal Empire’s annual Read United Day, a regional literacy initiative that places community volunteers in classrooms to inspire a love of reading among young students.

Tina Mock, Vice President of Member Services for the Savannah Area Chamber, volunteered at Bryan County Elementary School, where she read to Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 2nd-grade classes throughout the day.

Read United Day connects business and community leaders directly with students across Coastal Georgia, reinforcing the importance of early literacy and showing children that their broader community is invested in their success.

By stepping into the classroom, Chamber leadership helped bring stories to life for students while supporting an initiative that strengthens the foundation for lifelong learning across the region.
