Visit Savannah announces the upcoming retirement of Chief Sales Officer Jeff Hewitt on December 31. This will mark the close of a distinguished 40-plus-year career in tourism and hospitality, including 15 years of outstanding leadership with the organization.
Since joining in 2010, Hewitt has been instrumental in positioning Savannah as a premier meeting and convention destination. He has led record-breaking room night production growth and helped deliver the transformative Savannah Convention Center expansion. His vision, industry expertise, and relationship-building have left an enduring mark on Savannah’s tourism.
“Jeff’s impact on Savannah’s success as a meetings and tourism destination cannot be overstated,” said Joseph Marinelli, President & CEO of Visit Savannah. “His deep industry knowledge, relationship development, and passion for this city have helped shape how the world sees Savannah and how we tell our story. While we will certainly miss his leadership, we are extremely grateful for the legacy he leaves behind.”
