912 Day has arrived, and with it comes a community-wide celebration of everything that makes Savannah unique. More than just an area code, 912 Day is a tribute to our city’s history, culture, and spirit. The festivities kicked off today at City Hall and continue with nine days of activities leading up to the big day on Friday, September 12.
This year’s highlights include a family kickball and fitness night at Daffin Park hosted by the Chamber, a Coca-Cola pop-up with free product samples, a patriotic 5K at Forsyth Park, youth literacy programs, and a Taste of the 912 luncheon presented by the Savannah Downtown Business Association. The celebration culminates with a Family Reunion Festival at Savannah State University’s Wright Stadium on Saturday, September 13.
In addition to these daily events, multi-day activations will bring even more excitement. Comcast/Xfinity is hosting “September in Savannah” retail promotions, SCCPSS is engaging students through 912 Day youth contests sponsored by the Chamber, and Buy Local invites everyone to support community businesses during its “Shop 912” weekend.
