Ribbon Cutting for Savannah Center for Blind and Low Vision

DATE:
August 19, 2021 5:30 pm - August 19, 2021 7:00 pm
LOCATION:
1141 Cornell Drive, Savannah, Georgia 31406

The Savannah Center for Blind and Low Vision will be unveiling its newest training tool for students with blindness and visual impairment…the Line of Sight Orientation & Mobility Training Sidewalk. This moveable sidewalk will be used to teach white cane techniques and build confidence within each student. Each year the Center helps more than 400 people in throughout 29 counties in Southeast Georgia. This training sidewalk has been a long time goal for the Center and we are proud to finally have it in place for those we serve. Another great part of the sidewalk is the interactive art sculpture where each piece represents the visual journey of a student; filled with curves, straight lines, and more. Local artists Josh & Autumn Gary have been the creators in building this amazing piece of art. The ribbon cutting will be at 6PM.
