About

For nearly 50 years, the Auditory Verbal Center (AVC) has been transforming lives by helping children who are deaf or hard of hearing learn to listen, speak, and thrive. Founded in 1977, AVC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering children and families through specialized Auditory-Verbal Therapy, early intervention, and comprehensive audiology services.

What makes AVC truly special is our family-centered approach and commitment to making life-changing hearing and speech services accessible to all families, regardless of their financial circumstances or where they live. Through individualized therapy, parent coaching, bilingual services, and teletherapy, we equip children with the listening and spoken language skills they need to succeed in mainstream classrooms alongside their hearing peers'without the need for sign language or lip reading.

With our main office located in Atlanta, Georgia, AVC continues to expand its reach to serve more families across the state. We are excited to further our reach with our newest location in Savannah, Georgia, known as "The Mahaffey House," named in honor of one of AVC's co-founders. This expansion represents an exciting milestone in our mission to bring essential hearing healthcare and early intervention services closer to families throughout Coastal and Southern Georgia.

In addition to serving children and families, AVC's Audiology & Hearing Aid Clinic in Atlanta provides comprehensive hearing healthcare for individuals of all ages, from newborns to seniors.

At AVC, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. We don't just help children hear'we help them find their voice, build confidence, and create a future filled with possibilities.
