Membership Relations Manager

Title: Membership Relations Manager
Reports to: Chamber President/CEO

Overview of Position:

To communicate with current members the benefits of the Chamber and Visit Savannah. To understand the needs of the members so that their expectations are reached by our organization. To encourage the member to become involved with our many networking events and take advantage of our benefits so that they will see the value of their membership and continue renewing each year. To maintain a high membership retention rate. Involved members are the heart of our organization and we strive to reach out to all our members to get them involved. Contact members as needed to assure dues payments are timely.


• Retention
o Execute monthly invoicing to members, pull those with special circumstances (Marriott)
o Run reports from membership database (CRM) for 30, 60 and 90+ past due accounts
o Email all past due members
o Place phone calls to past due members
o As needed conduct personal visits to past due members
o Track all communications with past due members in CRM Traces
o Post incoming payments on reports daily to summarize monthly retention
o Prepare New Member and Cancellation Reports at month-end

• Member Inquiries
o Meet with current members about benefits
o Respond to phone calls and emails from current members with questions
o Respond to phone calls and emails from individuals outside of our organization with questions

• Updating Membership Information
o Speak with members about changes in their membership data
o Update membership records in CRM

• Assist Events Manager with Ambassadors Council, as needed
o Organize and oversee Ambassador Council of 60 volunteers
o Hold monthly meetings
o Hold annual Ambassador Holiday Social

• Assist Communications dept with annual data verification for Relocation & Visitor Guide

• Respond to complaint calls from members and visitors

• Trustees Council
o Track the list of Trustee memberships (Dues $2000+)
o Invite Trustee members to three Chamber Board of Director meetings annually as coordinated with the President

• Extranet
o Coach members on how to use the Extranet
o Approve member changes through the Extranet
o Receive emails submitted through the Extranet

• Member Email Report
o Run a report and resolve bounce back emails from newsletter email regularly
o Assure that these emails are updated

• Assist Events Manager with Events and Ribbon Cuttings as needed
o Attend and supply any help needed
o Assist Ambassadors as volunteers for events as needed

• Support Staff
o Membership Department works very closely and supports each other when needed, including speaking with potential new members when the sales staff is unavailable
o Back up for Assistant to the President when needed for daily Cash Receipt Report


• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt to CRM software
• Ability to multi-task
• Detail-oriented and well organized
• Able to work well with others in a close environment

Work Environment:
