Lifelong Resident Rediscovers Savannah Through a Visitor’s Eyes

After calling Savannah home for 75 years, lifelong resident and Beach High School graduate Ms. Dianne Williams recently stopped by the Martin Luther King, Jr. Visitor Information Center after returning from a cruise where fellow travelers couldn’t stop talking about how excited they were to visit Savannah. Her response? A simple, “Why?”

Determined to find out what all the excitement was about, Williams spent time with First Impression Specialist Supervisor Wonza Russell, gathering rack cards and learning about attractions, hidden gems, and experiences she had never explored herself.

After 75 years of calling Savannah home, she left with a new appreciation for the city she has always known—a reminder that it’s never too late to discover Savannah through the eyes of a visitor.
