Leadership Savannah’s recent program day highlighted how history, hospitality, and storytelling continue to shape our city’s future.
The day began at the Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum, where Vaughnette Goode Walker and Mercedes Arnold inspired the class with moving stories of courage and progress.
Next, at the Georgia State Railroad Museum, Joe Marinelli of Visit Savannah and Kelvin Moore of the Savannah Convention Center discussed how tourism and hospitality drive Savannah’s economy.
After a guided Old Town Trolley tour through the historic district, participants gathered at the AC Hotel for a panel with Whip Triplett, Michael Owens, and Mia Mance, who shared insights on workforce development, tourism’s future, and community growth.
The day concluded with a rooftop reception at Lavender, providing an opportunity for reflection and connection.
Leadership Savannah was reminded that our history grounds us, our tourism industry fuels us, and our people inspire us every step of the way.
