Business Community Rallies to Assist Federal Workers Serving Without Pay

In partnership with the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce and the Savannah Economic Development Authority (SEDA), the United Way of the Coastal Empire is accepting donations to support essential federal employees.

TSA agents, FAA staff, air traffic controllers, Customs and Border Protection officers, and others—who live in Bryan, Chatham, Effingham, Liberty, and Long Counties and continue to serve without pay due to the ongoing federal government shutdown — can seek assistance from the United Way.

Funds may also assist neighbors affected by the loss of federal benefits, including (but not limited to) SNAP.

How to Help:
Make a gift to the Emergency Support Fund at https://give.uwce.org/p/emergency-support-fund.

Every contribution—large or small—provides immediate relief for the people who keep our community moving. We are deeply grateful for your generosity and solidarity with these essential workers during this challenging time.

For Those Seeking Support:
Federal employees in need of assistance should email 21*@**ce.org and include “Federal Employee” in the subject line to be prioritized and connected with available resources.
