Last week in Washington, D.C., Congressman Buddy Carter paid tribute to Jeff Hewitt, Visit Savannah’s retiring Chief Sales Officer, live from the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives. Carter spoke fondly of Hewitt’s remarkable contributions to Savannah’s meetings and conventions industry and praised his leadership over the years.

Hewitt will retire at the end of 2025, concluding a distinguished career spanning more than 40 years in tourism and hospitality, including 15 years of outstanding service with Visit Savannah. His leadership has played a vital role in growing Savannah’s reputation as a premier meeting and convention destination.
