Judge Gregory V. Sapp graduated from the University of Georgia with an undergraduate degree in History and Political Science, and from the University Of Georgia School Of Law. Judge Sapp was in the private practice of law for 25 years before taking the State Court bench in 2011. Over the course of his career as an attorney, Judge Sapp represented individuals and businesses in a wide range of litigated civil and criminal legal matters in both state and federal courts, and before numerous state and federal agencies.Judge Sapp is a past president of the Savannah Bar Association, a Life Fellow of Georgia Bar Foundation, and volunteers his time in the community with numerous organizations including as a board member for the United Way of the Coastal Empire, The Savannah Philharmonic Advisory Board, The Chatham-Savannah Authority for the Homeless, and Communities in Schools of Savannah. Judge Sapp is President of the Savannah Sunrise Rotary Club, serves on the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee, is a Leadership Savannah graduate, and a Deacon at Southside Baptist Church.
Judge Sapp served two terms on the Savannah Chatham County Board of Education and is a past president of Oglethorpe Charter School.
Judge Sapp serves on the Executive Committee and the Uniform Rules Committee of the Council of State Court Judges of Georgia.
