Councils

The Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce oversees an array of councils dedicated to important community matters. Learn more about each of our councils below.

Leadership Savannah

Started in 1961, Leadership Savannah is the second oldest leadership program in America. With more than 2000 graduates, Leadership Savannah prepares the next generation of community leaders to face the challenges of tomorrow. This year-long program is designed for individuals who are committed to making a positive impact in the Savannah community and are eager to learn more about the city’s diverse culture, government, and economy.

The program is structured to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of Savannah’s history, economy, and current challenges. Participants will engage in interactive sessions with local leaders, attend site visits to businesses and organizations, and participate in a community service project. The program will culminate with a graduation ceremony to celebrate the achievements of the participants.

The program’s long-standing reputation for developing the next generation of leaders in the Savannah area projects its graduates into community service and further leadership role.

Each class consist of less than 50 people that attend monthly programs featuring areas that are economic drivers such as education, healthcare, manufacturing, logistics, economic development, tourism, and the military.

Applications will be accepted from July 1st to September 30, 2023 for the class of 2024.
