Marketing Coordinator for Visit Savannah

Overview of the position: 
Develops and implements key marketing initiatives for Visit Savannah, the Savannah Sports Council, and the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce including media buying and placement, department budget management and other marketing projects.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop the advertising schedule for Visit Savannah, the Savannah Sports Council, and the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce
  • Manage the media buying for print (magazine and newspaper), outdoor, TV, and radio, for Visit Savannah, the Savannah Sports Council, and the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce
  • Work with the vice president of communications and marketing and graphic designer on the development, management and placement of creative for advertising insertions
  • Assist the vice president of communications and marketing with budget creation and oversight throughout the year to ensure fiscal oversight
  • Collect and code invoices to appropriate departments. Attention to detail for working with billing department to resolve invoice discrepancies on a timely basis is required
  • Produce overviews of marketing projects for the department based on team input and coordination
  • Develop and execute marketing initiatives to support the tactical objectives of Visit Savannah
  • Assist other team members on marketing projects as needed
  • Under the guidance of the vice president of communications and marketing, manage marketing, advertising and special project RFPs
  • Participate as needed in assisting photo shoots for Visit Savannah and Visit Tybee and video productions as needed
  • Assist and volunteer at Chamber and Visit Savannah events in areas as needed

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelors’ degree in marketing, advertising, public relations or related field
  • 3-5 years of marketing/advertising management experience a plus
  • Media planning/directing experience a plus
  • Strong negotiating skills in consumer media (3-5 years of experience)
  • Knowledge of media terms and confident oral and written presentation skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented and proactive
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task to meet deadlines
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
