Overview of Position: 

Responsible for generating non-hotel/motel tax revenue through the sales of print and online advertising, develops revenue-generating marketing partnerships with local industry partners. Manages all print media buying efforts.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the advertising sales for VisitSavannah.com and other organization-owned online assets, ensure advertising placements, and develop and generate reports for partner advertisers (Revenue goal set by president and vice president of communications and marketing)
  • Develop appropriate advertising campaigns based on client's specific needs and budgets
  • Identify, generate and manage marketing partnerships with industry partners including serving as the main contact for partnerships, managing details, including administrative fees and marketing costs, and create post-campaign wrap-up reports
  • Manage the media buying for leisure, meetings, sports, group tour and international print advertising, including planning and negotiating rates, maintaining excel sheet and providing the information to director of marketing who handles development and submission of the ad creative
  • Work with director of marketing on developing strategy for co-op advertising opportunities for industry partners
  • Maintain updated media kit with all available advertising opportunities
  • Develop and maintain an organized system of advertising availability for each project and website
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Savannah Chamber member hotels, restaurants, shops and other appropriate organizations to ensure implementation of the established marketing plan
  • Maintain and strategize partner campaigns through DFP system
  • Meet with clients regularly to review campaign results
  • Utilize Simpleview CRM to ensure an accurate client history database
  • Work with communications team to ensure members are appropriately represented in all Visit Savannah correspondence and promotions
  • Interpret and optimize advertising campaigns based on trends and analytics
  • Assist and volunteer at Chamber and CVB events in areas as needed

Requirements:

  • Suggested 3-5 years experience in traditional and digital advertising sales
  • Bachelors’ degree in marketing or other related field
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Flexible working hours including some nights and weekend
  • Reliable transportation at all times
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suites, Social Media, CRM and CMS databases
  • Proficient in face-to-face sales calling and ability to articulate product values and propositions to customers.
  • Understand basic online advertising terminology
  • Ability to prioritize and to meet deadlines
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented and proactive
